Graffiti Art

In 2006 Mike Baca and Fernando Romero formed the illustrious collective, UR New York, based on “creation through destruction.” The artists began making art on the streets and in the subway system — transforming the tough and negative perceptions of street graffiti into positive urban-industrial art.

Today, UR New York speaks to people of all ages, color and cultures. Collectively, they have showcased work throughout the U.S. and internationally, including MoMA, VH1 and Sundance.

Romero and Baca also take time off to give back, speaking at local schools to motivate and inspire children’s artistic dreams. They strive to work together creating, showcasing and educating the world about graffiti art.

Leather

Will Lisak grew up in the PA countryside making from a young age — studying painting, design, wood and leather working — even sewing his own clothes.

After studying design in college and becoming inspired by the writings of William Morris, he founded Etwas in 2010, named after the German word for “something.”

“I set out to create an environment where every aspect was as elegant and graceful as the final product, where the process and product mirrored the ethos of hand-wrought design, and where all secondary products involved in the undertaking were considered.”

The resulting product is a bag entirely hand-crafted for a variety of applications using age-old skills — with the same design quality and attention to detail employed by 20th century tradesmen.
